Ingredients

  • Ground beef (or any other of your choice): 1 lb
  • Taco shells or tortillas: 8-12
  • Onion: 1 white, medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic Paste: 1 tablespoon
  • Ginger Paste: 1 teaspoon
  • Tomato Puree: 3 large tomatoes, pureed
  • Water: 1/2 cup
  • 2 tablespoons of Shan Keema Masala Mix.
    • This spice mix is designed for ground meat and will add a deep, rich flavor that is delicious and different from a traditional taco.
  • Toppings: Shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese (Cotija or Queso Fresco suggested), sour cream, and salsa

Directions

  1. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: Add the chopped onion, ginger, and garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring until the onion is soft.
  3. Build the Flavor: Stir in the seasoning and cook for another 5 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the tomato puree and water, stirring to combine everything.
  4. Simmer: Reduce the heat to low, and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken (almost dry).
  5. Assemble and Serve: Fill your taco shells or tortillas with the seasoned ground beef. Top with Salsa, your favorite fresh toppings, Avocado Creme, and enjoy.
